DIFFICULTY INDEX IN MULTIPLE-CHOICE QUESTIONS IN REMOTE SENSING A LONG ESSAY SUBMITTED TO THE DEPARTMENT OF CONTINUING EDUCATION, ADEYEMI COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, ONDO STATE, NIGERIA.
Abstract
This study investigates the difficulty index of Multiple-Choice Questions in remote sensing among undergraduate physics. A set of 100 MCQs, covering various topics in remote sensing, was administered to participants selected through random sampling from the Department of Physics. The assessment aimed to evaluate participants' understanding of remote sensing principles and techniques. Data analysis to determine the levels of difficulty of each item using JMETRIK was conducted. The findings categorized items into "Less Difficult," "Moderately Difficult," and "Most Difficult," providing insights into the distribution of difficulty index across the items. The results indicate that majority of the items are categorized as moderately difficult, suggesting a balanced mix of easier and challenging items. The integration of practical exercises in classwork and assessment will enhance students’ learning and achievement.
