IMPORTANCE OF PIDGIN ENGLISH IN BROADCASTING

This research takes a cursory look at how Pidgin English, a genre of English fits into
Broadcasting Act in media-cum-journalism professions, using Entertainment Programmes on
Wazobia TV as a study. It’s determined to scrutinize the influence of Pidgin English on
Television Programming, or more broad; influence of Pidgin on Broadcast sequence of
Journalism. The study adopted the survey research method using self-administered
questionnaire. The data gathered from the questionnaire revealed that Pidgin English is
accepted by Wazobia TV audience-members.
