EXAMINING THE CHALLENGES AND PROSPECT OF CATERING AND EVENT PLANNING IN JOS, PLATEAU STATE

ABSTRACT This study titled “Examining the Challenges and Prospect of the Catering and Event Planning in Jos, Plateau State”examine the challenges and prospect of the catering event planning in Jos, Plateau State. The study objectives areto identify the challenges facing catering event planning in Plateau State.To analyse the effect of the challenges on the performance event catering, in Jos, Plateau State and to suggest a way forward for the growth if event catering in Jos Plateau State. The study employed a survey research design with the population 10 event centers. the findings of the study revealed that the critical challenges facing the catering and event planning industry in Jos, Plateau State are seasonal demand fluctuations, intensified competition, budget limitations, and logistical intricacies. Also, the study identified effective strategies to curb the challenge include conducting comprehensive market research to identify target markets and trends, investing in technology to streamline operations and enhance communication with clients, adapting menus to reflect current preferences and sustainability concerns, forming strategic partnerships with reliable suppliers for quality ingredients, and prioritizing staff training to improve service quality and adaptability. The study concluded that by embracing these measures, catering and event planning businesses can position themselves for sustainable growth, elevate service standards, and ensure resilience in an evolving industry. The study recommended that hospitality businesses should prioritize investments in technology and conduct market research to identify emerging trends, customer preferences, and shifting demands.
