Abstract

In educational institutions an established person leads and supports a novice through the mentoring process. Higher education mentoring enables students to adapt to new academic programs and enhances their chances of mentor support as it minimizes educational weaknesses. Godfrey Okoye University assigns mentors to students as part of its current practice when students enrol. Students need to organize their meetings after which they meet with their mentors. Following up with students and reporting on mentoring is hard since many students aren’t informed about what mentoring is and what it should achieve. If an online mentoring system is developed, these challenges can be solved. Thanks to the system, both parties can create meetings and outline achievement points to maintain the privacy of mentoring assessments. The research work on the other hand, stands to present an automated system that have been put in place to help reduce the stress between mentors and their mentees. The system was created using HTML, CSC, Javascript and bootstrap for the frontend and PHP for the backend and Mysql for the database. The system was made up of various pages which includes login/signup page, mentee and mentors dashboard. The methodology used for this research work was object oriented analysis.
