Abstract

ABSTRACT The integration of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) in modern library settings has transformed the way information is stored, retrieved, and disseminated. This study investigates the relevance of ICTs in enhancing the operations and services at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa University (ATBU) Library in Bauchi. Using a case study approach, the research examines how the adoption of ICT tools has improved access to digital resources, library management systems, and user experience. The study explores key ICT implementations, such as online catalogs, e-resources, and automated circulation processes, while also highlighting challenges such as inadequate funding and technical support. Findings show that ICT has significantly improved the efficiency and accessibility of library services, fostering a more dynamic and user-centered environment. The study concludes that continuous investment in ICT infrastructure is essential for the sustainable development of modern libraries, especially in academic settings.
