A COMBINED FRAMEWORK OF FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT FOR SUSTAINBLE ELECTRICITY PRODUCTION USING WAVE ENERGY CONVERSION SYSTEM
Abstract
This project work explores the potential of wave energy conversion systems (WECS) to sustainably generate electricity. The demand for renewable energy sources has increased due to environmental concerns and the need to reduce reliance on fossil fuels. The ocean is a vast and largely untapped source of renewable energy, and WECS provide a promising technology to harness wave energy. The paper reviews the current state of WECS technology and highlights the key challenges and opportunities for sustainable electricity production using wave energy. The study also examines the technical, economic and environmental impact of WECS. Finally, the paper discusses future research directions and the need for policy support to encourage the development and adoption of WECS. Overall, the study concludes that WECS have significant potential to contribute to a sustainable energy future and should be further explored and developed as a viable source of electricity production in Nigeria.
