Abstract

This project presents the design and development of an IoT-based automated classroom system aimed at improving the efficiency, comfort, and management of modern learning environments. The system utilizes various IoT components such as DHT11 and HC-SR04 sensor, ESP8266 Node MCU microcontroller, an OLED screen, a relay switch and a remote monitoring app (Blynk) to automate key classroom functions such as remote lighting control and real time updates to the Blynk mobile app, temperature and humidity monitoring with the DHT11 sensor which also sends updates to the Blynk app, and attendance monitoring using the HC-SR04 Ultrasonic sensor to collect occupancy data and display it locally on the Oled screen or relay the data to the Blynk app wirelessly. The system has been properly tested to prove efficient functionality as well as producing expected results in carrying out its functions. The project demonstrates how IoT can be leveraged to create smart, energy-efficient classrooms with reduced manual intervention, offering a practical and scalable solution for educational institutions.
