MULTIPLE REGRESSION ANALYSIS ON MAIZE YIELD IN BORNO STATE (A CASE STUDY OF LAKE CHAD RESEARCH INSTITUTE, MAIDUGURI)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study investigates the factors influencing maize production in Maiwa Borno State through a comprehensive analysis of key variables, correlation matrices, and multiple regression models were employed to discern the interplay between panicle lent plant height, flowering, maturity days and maize yield. I investigate the effect of the independent variable on the given grain yield using multiple regression analysis. The result shown that has the significant effect on the grain yield and it also point out that a decrease associates with an increase in grain yield .R2 is 0.11 that is only 11% proportion of the total variation in grain yield has been explained by independent. While 89% variation is unexplained. This implies that there are other Importance variable not included in the experiment that have significant effect on grain yield
