STABILIZATION OF TROPICAL SOIL WITH CORN COB ASH USING CEMENT AS A CATALYST
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study assesses the Stabilization of tropical soil with corn cob ash using cement as a catalyst. Preliminary tests will be carried out on the natural soil sample for purpose of identification and classification. Corn cob Ash being the main stabilizing material will be thoroughly mixed with the soil sample to determine the optimum CCA requirement of the sample as a basis for evaluating the effects of the cement that will be used. The optimum CCA requirement will be 10%. The CCA will be thereafter added to the laterite soil in varying proportions of 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10%. It is epected that at the end of this research, CCA can serve as a good complement for stabilization in lateritic soil.
