Abstract

This paper presents a comparative analysis of Marxism and Christianity in the context of development. The study examines the fundamental principles and beliefs of Marxism and Christianity, and explores their respective attitudes towards economic, social, and political development. It delves into how Marxism emphasizes material conditions, class struggle, and the role of the state in achieving social and economic progress, while Christianity highlights spiritual salvation, love, and compassion as essential components of human development. The paper also investigates the potential points of convergence and divergence between these two ideologies in shaping developmental frameworks. Through a comprehensive review of literature and critical analysis, this study aims to provide an insightful understanding of the implications of Marxism and Christianity on development, and offers valuable insights for scholars, policymakers, and practitioners in the field of development studies.
