Abstract

The study aimed at investigating the effect of ethanolic leaf extract of crassulaceae and bisoprolol on lipidprofile(HDL,LDL, VLDL,CHO, TG),in high saltfedrats. Thirty five (35) wistar ratsweighing 110-190 were divided into 5groupsof7 ratseach. Group 1(normal control), Group 2 (Na only) Group 3 (Cr only), Group 4 (Na + Cra) Group 5 (Na+Bis). Ethanolic leaf extract of Cr was administered orally at dose of 600mg/kg bwt, Na was administered orally at a dose of 1% in 99ml of water and 8% in 92g of feed, bisoprolol was admistered orally at a dose of 50mg/kg bwt.All the animal were given normal rat chow and water at libitum, the regimen lasted for 28 days. Thereafter, the animals were then sacrificed usingchloroformanaesthesia.Thebloodwascollectedviacardiacpunctureintosamplebottles andcentrifugedat 2500rmp for10minutes.Serumwerecollected forlaboratoryanalysis. The results of total cholesterol shows a significant level (P
