Abstract

With the growing digitization of various processes, online voting has gained significant attention as an efficient and accessible method for democratic decision-making. However, ensuring the security, transparency, and integrity of online voting systems remains a critical challenge. The proposed online voting system integrates blockchain, a decentralized and immutable ledger, to provide a secure and transparent platform for conducting elections. By utilizing blockchain's inherent characteristics, such as its distributed nature, encryption, and immutability, the system establishes a robust infrastructure that will enhance trust and mitigate risks associated with traditional voting methods. The architecture of the system comprises multiple components, including a secure user interface, an authentication module, and a blockchain network. Voters authenticate their identities using secure login mechanisms, and their votes are encrypted to protect privacy. These encrypted votes are then recorded on the blockchain, ensuring their immutability and integrity. The blockchain network acts as a decentralized repository, enabling transparent auditability of the entire voting process. Each vote is stored in a block, chained together with previous blocks, forming an unalterable sequence. By leveraging blockchain technology, the proposed online voting system offers several advantages. It eliminates the need for trust in centralized authorities, reduces the possibility of manipulation or hacking, and enhances voter confidence by providing a transparent and auditable process. Additionally, the system promotes inclusivity by allowing remote and disabled voters to participate in elections without physical constraints.
