Abstract

ABSTRACT This study aimed to investigate the effect of occupational exposure to rice husk dust on pulmonary function,Exposure to organic dust and endotoxin at the workplace may cause several respiratory diseases, including asthma, allergic alveolitis, chronic bronchitis, hypersensitivity pneumonitis, and acute and/or chronic lung function impairment. It also causes a sharp drop of airflow rate in sensitive individuals,Rice mill workers are frequently exposed to rice dust specks containing bacteria, endotoxins, spores, and chemicals in workplaces. Consequently, they develop diverse respiratory symptoms that lead to increased disability and social burden.(Teschke, 2002b)
