Abstract

ABSTRACT Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs) remain a major public health challenge, particularly among teenagers, due to risky sexual behaviors and inadequate awareness. Sexuality education has been identified as a critical intervention for promoting safe sexual practices and preventing the spread of STDs. This study examines the influence of sexuality education on preventing sexually transmitted diseases among teenage students in Offa Local Government Area. The research adopts a descriptive survey design, using questionnaires to collect data from a representative sample of secondary school students. Data analysis focuses on assessing students’ knowledge of STDs, attitudes toward safe sexual practices, and the effectiveness of sexuality education programs in shaping behavior. Findings from the study are expected to highlight the role of comprehensive sexuality education in reducing STD prevalence, improving awareness, and promoting responsible sexual behavior among teenagers. The study also provides practical recommendations for educators, policymakers, and health practitioners to strengthen sexuality education programs and ensure effective disease prevention among adolescent populations.
