Abstract
The main thrust of this study was to investigate educational environment and moral development of pupils in selected primary in Odukpani Local Government Area of Cross River State. To achieve the purpose of this study, four hypotheses were formulated to guide the study. Literatures related to the variables under study were reviewed accordingly. Survey research design was adopted for the study. Samples of one hundred and twenty (120) pupils were randomly selected for the study. The selection was done through the stratified and simple random sampling techniques. The questionnaire was the main instrument used for data collection. The questionnaire was subjected face validation by the supervisor who vetted the items. The reliability estimate of the instrument was established through the test retest reliability method. Pearson’s product moment correlation analysis was employed to test the hypotheses under study. All hypotheses were tested at 0.5 level of significance. The result of the analysis revealed that teachers’ attitude, parents’ attitude, the role of media and peer group pressure significantly relates with moral behaviour of pupils in educational environment. Parents must be self-disciplined by setting example of high behaviour for the students to emulate.
