Abstract

The design and construction of a three-phase bi-directional Direct-On-Line (DOL) control starter panel is an essential solution in modern industrial motor control systems where motors are required to operate in both forward and reverse directions. This project focuses on developing a robust, safe, and efficient starter panel capable of controlling three-phase induction motors in either direction through manual and automatic control systems. The panel includes protective features such as circuit breakers, overload relays, interlocking systems, and indicator lamps. The design ensures protection against phase failure, overcurrent, and accidental reversal. The bi-directional control is achieved using two contactors with electrical and mechanical interlocks, allowing safe switching between forward and reverse modes.
