Abstract

Abstract This study evaluates the effectiveness of broadcasting media enlightenment campaigns—specifically radio and television programs—in reducing drug abuse within rural areas of Gwagwalada, Abuja. The intervention focused on educating the population on the dangers of drug use and the benefits of a drug-free lifestyle. Results indicated a significant increase in knowledge and positive behavioral intentions among the intervention group, alongside a notable decrease in drug abuse prevalence compared to the control group.
