Abstract

ABSTRACT The agricultural sector remains a crucial component of national development, especially in developing economies like Nigeria. However, smallholder farmers often face difficulties in accessing profitable markets due to the presence of multiple intermediaries, lack of timely information. The system allows farmers to create profiles, list their products, and connect directly with consumers and bulk buyers, thereby eliminating the reliance on middlemen. Key features include product listings, secure order and payment systems, real-time communication, review mechanisms, and administrative dashboards. Using modern web technologies and a threetier architecture, the platform enhances transparency, trust, and efficiency in the agricultural supply chain. The system was developed using HTML, CSS, JavaScript (React), Python (Flask), and PostgreSQL, and is optimized for mobile access. Ultimately, this project demonstrates how digital tools can empower rural farmers, reduce post-harvest losses, improve income levels, and foster inclusive economic growth through a more efficient agricultural marketplace. ObjectOriented Analysis and Design (OOAD) was used as the methodology for the study so that there would be a modular design
