Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examines the impact of organizational ethics on employee performance at Abdu Gusau Polytechnic, Talata Mafara. Organizational ethics refers to the principles, values, and standards that guide behavior within the workplace, while employee performance encompasses productivity, job satisfaction, and overall effectiveness. The study investigates how ethical practices such as integrity, fairness, transparency, and accountability influence employee motivation, job satisfaction, and performance outcomes. Using a descriptive research design, the study surveyed 100 employees (academic and administrative staff) and conducted interviews to gather both quantitative and qualitative data. The findings suggest that a strong ethical climate positively impacts employee performance, fostering a motivated and committed workforce. Ethical leadership, clear communication of ethical standards, and a supportive ethical culture were found to enhance job satisfaction and overall work performance. Conversely, unethical practices were linked to lower employee morale and productivity. The study concludes that fostering a culture of ethics within an organization is essential for optimizing employee performance. Based on the findings, it is recommended that Abdu Gusau Polytechnic reinforce its ethical standards, implement ethics training programs, and establish mechanisms for reporting unethical behavior to improve overall employee performance and institutional success.
