PROPERTIES OF CONCRETE WITH COTTON FIBER
Abstract
This research work investigates the properties of concrete with the inclusion of cotton fiber as reinforcement material. Concrete is one of the most widely used construction materials worldwide due to its strength and durability. However, it has low tensile strength and is prone to cracking.
The study examines the effect of adding varying percentages of cotton fiber to concrete mix and evaluates its performance in terms of compressive strength and workability. Different concrete samples were prepared and tested after curing.
The results show that the inclusion of cotton fiber improves the tensile properties and crack resistance of concrete, although excessive fiber content may reduce workability. The study concludes that cotton fiber can be used as a partial reinforcement material in concrete production.
