Abstract

This project focuses on the production of a flower vase using waste materials generated from the Food and Beverage Unit of the Hospitality Department, Federal Polytechnic Bauchi. The increasing rate of waste generation in hospitality establishments contributes significantly to environmental pollution. This study aims to demonstrate how waste materials such as plastic bottles, glass bottles, tin cans, cartons, and leftover packaging materials can be creatively reused to produce decorative and functional flower vases. Materials were collected, cleaned, processed, and redesigned into aesthetic products using simple tools and adhesives. The results show that waste materials can be transformed into attractive and durable flower vases at minimal cost. The project promotes environmental sustainability, waste reduction, creativity, and resource efficiency within the institution.
