Abstract

ABSTRACT Effective waste management has become a critical global challenge due to rapid urbanization and population growth. Traditional waste collection and disposal methods are inefficient and often lead to environmental pollution. This project, Garbage Classification for Smart Waste Management Systems, aims to develop an intelligent system capable of automatically classifying waste into categories such as biodegradable, recyclable, and non-recyclable materials. Using image processing and machine learning techniques, the system analyzes waste images and predicts their appropriate categories with high accuracy. The proposed model enhances the efficiency of recycling processes, reduces human involvement in waste sorting, and promotes sustainable waste management practices. By integrating smart technology into waste management, this project contributes to cleaner environments, reduced operational costs, and improved resource recovery in urban areas.
