DESIGN AND CONSTRUCTION OF A BLUETOOTH CONTROL ELECTRIC COOKER
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This project is aimed at improving the electric method of cooking by making its operation easier and les laborious. Electric cooker are normally designed to be controlled manually but this project is focused on improving it to be controlled automatically using your Android device by connecting it to your Bluetooth. Within the realm of wireless communication technologies for Home Automation, a variety of options have been extensively studied for their applications in Home Automation. Notable technologies include Wi-Fi, ZigBee, Z-wave, and Bluetooth Classic. However, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), introduced as an upgrade to Bluetooth Classic, stands out for its low power consumption, cost- effectiveness, and widespread availability in consumer devices. The Arduino Uno serves as a versatile and effective main controller for a Bluetooth- controlled oven prototype. With its user-friendly interface and robust capabilities, Arduino provides an ideal platform for integrating and managing various components within the system. Bluetooth capability was given to the controller with the aid of Bluetooth module known as HCO5. We use MIT App inventor to develop the app both frontend and backend. The project was constructed using plain carbon steel with durable shape, neatly welded and painted. The stove has a capacity of 2000W electric heater. The whole project was tested and the performance was satisfactory. The project is highly recommended for people with physical disabilities especially those with movement impediment.
