FABRICATION OF A DE-AIRING PUGMILR
Abstract
The inability of the Government to provide adequate employment opportunities for the increasing number of Nigerian graduates has made it necessary for tertiary institutions to equip students with practical skills that will enable them to become employers of labour rather than job seekers. One of the effective ways to achieve this is through skill acquisition that enhances proactive participation in society. This project focuses on the construction of a pugmill for the Department of Visual Arts and Technology. Beyond meeting the equipment needs of the Department, the project utilized local materials and techniques in producing suitable studio equipment. To achieve the objectives of this study, an experimental methodology was adopted in the construction of the pugmill, while descriptive and exploratory methods were used for data analysis. The study recommends further in-depth research aimed at harnessing locally developed skills for the production of studio facilities, thereby enhancing productivity through creativity.
