Abstract

Abstract This study examined the effect of reward management on employees’ performance in the Nigerian financial sector, with specific focus on Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank). Reward management plays a strategic role in influencing employee motivation, productivity, job satisfaction, and organizational commitment. The study adopted a descriptive survey research design. Data were collected from selected staff members of GTBank through structured questionnaires. The findings revealed that both financial rewards (such as salaries, bonuses, and incentives) and non-financial rewards (such as recognition, promotion opportunities, and training) significantly influence employee performance. The study concluded that an effective and well-structured reward management system enhances employee productivity and organizational performance in the banking sector. It recommended that management should ensure fairness, transparency, and consistency in reward policies to sustain high employee performance. Keywords: Reward management, employee performance, financial sector, motivation, banking industry.
