INVESTIGATE THE PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF ZINGERONE ON AICI3/D- GALACTOSE MICROGLIA ACTIVATION AND NEUROINFLAMMATION IN THE HIPPOCAMPUS
Abstract
Aluminum is one of the trace elements with a moderate toxic effect on living organism. Chronic exposition to this trace element can cause alterations in skeletal, nervous, hematopoietic and respiratory systems. Aluminum-Chloride is a potentneurotoxicant reputed for memory impairment and miitochondrial oxidative damage in rats. In folk medicine, plant extracts have a wide r a n ge of medicinal actions, and have been used to treat a variety of diseases. This study was aimed at investigate: the protective effect of Zingerone 011 A[Cl2/D-galactose microglia activation and neuroinflamrnation in the hippocampus. Twenty-eight Wistar mice weighing between 20- 28g were randomly grouped into four (4) groups of seven (7) mice each. Group I; normal control group were feel with food and water, Group 2; Aluminum chloride+ D- galactose group only, Group 3; Aluminum chloride+ O-galactose + Zingerone group and Group 4; Aluminum chloride+ D-galactose + Donepezil group. After sacrifice, the brains of the annual’s subject were carefully removed and preserved in 10% formal saline for routine IBA I technique. Data from weight were statistically analyzed. Values were considered statistically significant at p
