DESIGN AND FABRICATION OF BANANA FIBRE EXTRACTION MACHINE
Abstract
Banana fibres have gained interest in recent years due to their remarkable properties and eco-friendly nature, but the extraction process remains a challenge as they are predominantly manual in many regions. Manual extraction methods are labour-intensive, time-consuming, and often result in low yields, and they are prone to causing damage to the fibres, compromising their quality and usability. Existing extraction machines are either rudimentary or not widely accessible, hindering the efficient extraction of fibres from banana plants on a larger scale. The absence of efficient extraction machinery inhibits the potential of banana fibres to compete with synthetic fibres in terms of cost, quality, and production volume.
