APPLICATION OF MULTIPLE CORRELATION ANALYSIS ON HEIGHT, AGE AND WEIGHT OF HNDII STUDENTS COMPUTER SCIENCE DEPARTMENT NIGER STATE POLYTECHNIC, ZUNGERU
Abstract
This study examined the relationhip between age, weight and height of students of Computer Science Department, Niger State Polytechnic Zungeru. The sample of 56 HNDII students were covered. The study used multiple correlation to analyse the collected data collected. The result revealed that the correlation coefficient between age and height was 0.057422, meaning a weak positive relationship. Between age and weight it was 0.170467, meaning a weak positive relationship. Between height and weight, the correlation coefficient was 0.067328, indicating a weak positive relationship. The result revealed that the multiple correlation () between student Age, height and weight was 0.180, meaning a weak relationship between student Age, height and weight at the Department of Computer Science, Niger State polytechnic Zungeru. It was concluded that age, height and weights of the students of HNDII Department of Computer Science have weak positive relationship. We recommended that Parents should try as much as possible to get enough nurishable food for their children while going to school, this would go a long way in controlling their weight and height. Student, particularly Niger State polytechnic Zungeru should avoid high intake of sugar and carbohydrate to avoid high level of cholesterol in their body. The study recommended for further studies to see if larger data still give a weak positive relationship
