DEPARTMENTAL FEE PAYMENT VERIFICATION SYSTEM A CASE STUDY OF DEPARTMENT OF COMPUTER SCIENCE, CRESCENT UNIVERSITY, ABEOKUTA.
Abstract
This project presents the design and implementation of a web-based Hostel Management System tailored to address the inefficiencies in traditional hostel allocation processes at Crescent University, Abeokuta. The increasing student population and manual procedures often lead to errors, delays, and unfair allocations. The developed system provides a centralized, automated platform for student registration, room allocation, complaints management, announcements, and profile handling, all integrated into a responsive user interface. Using technologies such as Python (backend), MySQL (database), HTML/CSS/JavaScript (frontend), and a structured Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodology, the system was implemented to enhance allocation speed, improve accuracy, and promote transparency. The intelligent algorithm considers student constraints such as gender, academic level, and payment verification. Comprehensive testing confirmed the system's performance, usability, and security, demonstrating significant improvement over manual methods. The research concludes that a robust, user-friendly, and scalable hostel management system can substantially enhance administrative efficiency and student satisfaction in higher institutions.
