ENHANCING DATA SECURITY USING RSA AND REVERSE CIPHER
Abstract
In today’s digital era, protecting sensitive information from unauthorized access has become a critical challenge. With the rapid growth of internet-based communication and data exchange, ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, and security is essential. This project presents a hybrid encryption approach titled “Enhancing Data Security Using RSA and Reverse Cipher”, which combines the strength of asymmetric encryption with a simple transformation technique to provide an additional layer of security.
The RSA algorithm, a widely used public-key cryptographic system, ensures secure key exchange and strong encryption based on mathematical principles of prime factorization. To further strengthen data protection, a Reverse Cipher technique is integrated into the system. In this method, the plaintext is first transformed by reversing its character sequence before being encrypted using RSA. This dual-layer process makes unauthorized decryption more complex and enhances resistance against basic cryptographic attacks.
The proposed system improves overall security by combining the robustness of RSA with the simplicity of the reverse cipher, ensuring better protection for sensitive data during transmission and storage. The implementation demonstrates that the hybrid approach is effective, secure, and suitable for modern communication systems requiring enhanced data confidentiality.
