Abstract

ABSTRACT This study evaluates the groundwater potential, aquifer characteristics, and contamination vulnerability of the Uvwie community in Okuokoko, Warri, Delta State, Nigeria, based on six Vertical Electrical Sounding (VES) stations conducted around Okuokoko Primary School, Redeem Christian Academy, and Mastrol Christian Academy. Resistivity values ranged from 162 Ω·m to 11,900 Ω·m, defining three to five geoelectric layers consisting of topsoil, lateritic sand, sandy clay, and saturated aquiferous sand or gravel. Aquifer units displayed moderate resistivity values of 400–900 Ω·m, while Dar Zarrouk parameters showed transverse resistance of 3,161–20,377 Ω·m² and longitudinal conductance of
