Abstract

Abstract This study evaluated the impact of the Service Compact with All Nigerians (SERVICOM) on public service delivery in Globe FM, Bauchi, a unit of the Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria. The primary purpose was to assess how SERVICOM has influenced service efficiency, accountability, and responsiveness to public expectations. The study was guided by objectives that examined the mandates of SERVICOM, the challenges affecting its implementation, and its overall effect on service delivery in Globe FM. A survey research design was adopted, with a sample size of 100 respondents selected through simple random sampling. Data were collected using structured questionnaires and analyzed with descriptive statistics such as frequency distribution and percentages. The findings revealed that while SERVICOM has contributed to improved responsiveness, professionalism, and service quality in Globe FM, its full implementation is hindered by challenges such as inadequate funding, bureaucratic resistance, weak enforcement mechanisms, political interference, and low public awareness. The study concludes that SERVICOM remains a vital instrument for promoting accountability and efficiency in public institutions but requires stronger institutional commitment, adequate resources, and improved citizen engagement to achieve its objectives. It recommends increased budgetary allocations, capacity-building programs for staff, adoption of digital service delivery tools, establishment of independent oversight mechanisms, and intensified public sensitization campaigns to enhance SERVICOM’s effectiveness.
