THEAPPLICATIONOFSTATISTICALQUALITYCONTROL IN OBSERVING THE PRODUCTION AND PAKAGING PROCESS OF SACHET WATER
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This study applied Statistical Process Control techniques to monitor and evaluate the quality and consistency of sachet water production. Using X-bar, R, and p-charts, data obtained from field surveys were analyzed with Minitab software to assess process stability, variability, and defect rates. The X-bar chart indicated that the sachet water filling process was not stable, with the process mean above the target specification, the samples exceeded the control limits, suggesting special cause variations. The R-chart showed that process variability was not in control, the outliers exceeded the upper control limit, pointing to temporary inconsistencies in the filling operation. The p-chart analysis revealed that most daily outputs do not meet acceptable quality levels, the samples recorded higher defect proportions, indicating potential machine or operator issues. The findings confirmed that the sachet water production process is capable but requires continuous monitoring to sustain quality standards. The study concludes that the application of Statistical Process Control is effective in detecting process deviations, reducing variability, and improving product quality. It recommends regular machine maintenance, operator training, and integration of Statistical Process Control tools into routine quality assurance practices to ensure consistent production performance and customer satisfaction.
