SOCIO-POLITICAL EFFECT OF WORKERS PERFORMANCE IN POWER HOLDING COMPANY IN MAIDUGURI OFFICE
Abstract
The study on the impact of poverty reduction programs implemented by the Federal Government in Jere Local Government Area, Borno State, reveals mixed outcomes. While significant strides have been made in raising awareness about these programs and addressing key aspects of rural poverty, there are persistent gaps in accessibility, inclusiveness, and sustainability. The programs have been instrumental in creating some opportunities for employment, improving household incomes, and providing basic amenities like water, healthcare, and education. However, challenges such as inadequate communication, corruption, and limited community involvement have hindered their effectiveness. Many rural residents acknowledge the presence of these initiatives but feel that their impact is either inconsistent or insufficient to address the depth of poverty in the area.
