Abstract
This work examines and compares blood pressure indices among elderly populations in rural and urban areas of Etche and Obio/Akpor Local Government Areas in Rivers State. The cross-sectional research design incorporated demographic, socioeconomic, and lifestyle factors to explore possible disparities in blood pressure patterns. Blood pressure measurements, including systolic and diastolic values and pulse rates, were collected from both rural and urban elderly adults. The results show significant differences in systolic blood pressure, with higher averages in rural populations.
