ANXIOLYTIC ACTIVITY OF VITEX CHRYSOCARPA ETHYLACETATE FRACTION IN OPEN FIELD TEST MODEL IN MICE
Abstract
Abstract
This study investigated the potential anxiolytic effects of the ethyl acetate fraction of Vitex chrysocarpa in mice using the Open Field Test (OFT) model. Anxiety disorders remain a significant area of pharmacological research, and plant-derived compounds offer promising alternatives for therapeutic intervention.
In this study, [insert number] groups of mice were administered varying doses of the ethyl acetate fraction, with [insert control substance] as the positive control and [insert substance] as the negative control. Behavioral parameters, including line crossings, center square entries, and grooming duration, were observed and recorded. The results indicated that [insert key finding, e.g., the fraction significantly increased locomotor activity/reduced anxiety-like behavior]. These findings suggest that Vitex chrysocarpa possesses significant anxiolytic potential, warranting further investigation into its bioactive constituents and underlying mechanisms of action.
