Abstract

ABSTRACT This study examined the influence of social media resources in teaching of English language in senior secondary schools in Enugu East local government area. Three research questions guided the study. The research employed a descriptive survey approach. The population of the study consisted of 1,311. The study's sample consisted of 200 respondents. A questionnaire served as the data gathering tool. We used the mean score and standard deviation to examine the gathered data. The study's conclusions showed that having enough social media resources is crucial for good instruction; as a result, governments need to frequently provide social media resources to schools. According to the report, instructors often do not make the most of the social media platforms that are accessible to them. Even if all the resources are there, there may not be the enthusiasm to use them. The following suggestions were put forth: Teachers and students should regularly attend conferences, seminars, workshops, and in-service training on how to install, use, and maintain social media tools. This would be very important for changing the way we educate in our schools, particularly in the senior secondary schools in Enugu State's Enugu East Local Government Area. The purchase of additional educational social media resources requires funding from the federal and state ministries of education. For the instructors to utilize social media tools appropriately and successfully, they need also be under supervision. Lastly, in order to boost the use of social media resources, the government, school administration, and other stakeholders should regularly offer power that is pertinent to the education sector.
