Abstract

This research explores the proximate nutritional composition and pharmacological significance of Aloe barbadensis Miller, highlighting its potential role in promoting health and managing disease. Nutritional analysis reveals the presence of vital macronutrients including proteins, carbohydrates, fiber, and essential minerals, supporting its value as a dietary supplement in resource-limited regions. Phytochemical screening indicates the abundance of bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, saponins, alkaloids, and phenolics, which contribute to its broad spectrum of medicinal properties. Ethnomedicinal reports and experimental evidence suggest its efficacy in treating ailments such as wounds, inflammation, infections, hypertension, diabetes, and kidney stones. The study underscores the importance of Aloe barbadensis Miller as a functional plant with both nutritional and pharmacological benefits, advocating for its integration into modern therapeutic practices and further investigation into its bioactive constituents and mechanisms of action.
