Abstract

This study assessed the acceptability of media campaigns on the Naira redesign policies in 2023. Employing a quantitative survey design, data were gathered from 380 respondents drawn from Etsako West Local Government Area of Edo State, Nigeria, using structured questionnaires and a multistage sampling technique. The study evaluated the level of public awareness and understanding of the redesign policy, identified the most effective media channels used in the campaign, analyzed public perceptions of information credibility and reliability, and examined the demographic factors influencing campaign acceptance. Findings revealed that 90% of respondents were aware of the Naira redesign policy, with social media and television identified as the most effective and credible channels for information dissemination. Demographic factors; particularly education level, age, and trust in media; significantly influenced acceptance, with higher education associated with greater receptivity to campaign messages. The study concludes that media campaigns played a decisive role in shaping public perception and compliance with the Naira redesign policy. Strategic recommendations include prioritizing high-impact digital channels, tailoring messages to demographic groups, maintaining information credibility, and conducting regular campaign evaluations to strengthen public trust and policy compliance.
