IMPACT OF HEALTH AND SAFETY SERVICES ON EMPLOYEE PERFORMANCE (A STUDY OF J. UDEAGBALA NIGERIA LTD, ABA).
Abstract
ABSTRACT
Workplace safety and employee health are fundamental pillars of organizational success. Organizations that prioritize safe working conditions often experience improved productivity, higher employee morale, and lower accident rates. This research examines the impact of health and safety services on employee performance using J. Udeagbala Nigeria Ltd, Aba, as a case study.
The study explores how workplace safety policies, health programs, protective equipment, and safety training influence employee effectiveness, motivation, and productivity. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees across different departments of the company. The research adopted a descriptive survey design to analyze employee perceptions of workplace safety and its effect on performance.
Findings indicate that organizations with effective health and safety services experience improved employee commitment, reduced absenteeism, and increased productivity. Employees who feel safe in their work environment tend to focus better on their tasks and demonstrate higher levels of job satisfaction.
The study concludes that health and safety management is not merely a regulatory obligation but a strategic organizational investment that directly influences employee performance. The research recommends that companies strengthen their safety policies, improve employee training programs, and consistently monitor workplace safety standards to enhance productivity and organizational sustainability.
