Abstract

This content analysis investigates the changing influence of international trade agreements on global politics, emphasizing how these agreements have evolved from purely economic tools into strategic instruments of geopolitics. The study analyzes how trade structures affect political alliances, power relations, and governance systems at both regional and international scales. It also explores the influence of trade agreements on global interactions between two nations, as well as the barriers that affect such agreements in the political sphere. Additionally, the research addresses key issues such as the absence of strong enforcement mechanisms. A secondary data collection approach and content analysis were employed to assess the influence of international trade agreements on global political dynamics. The results reveal challenges like promoting inclusive growth especially in developing and least-developed countries and managing the tension between economic openness and social or environmental protections. The study concludes that trade agreements serve a vital dual purpose in shaping global economic systems and political structures. It recommends that nations enhance global governance and align trade objectives with foreign policy to ensure that trade deals support a more balanced, stable, and law-driven international order.
