Abstract

ABSTRACT The demand for accessible, trustworthy skilled labour services in Enugu State, Nigeria, has continued to grow, underscoring the need for an efficient system that connects service seekers with local professionals. This study presents the development of a web-based local service finder designed to bridge this gap by offering a centralized platform where users can easily locate verified skilled workers—such as electricians, plumbers, and carpenters—within their geographical vicinity. The project employs a structured software development life cycle (SDLC) approach, integrating technologies including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, and MySQL. Through responsive design, geolocation functionality, and a searchable database categorized by skills and location, the platform enhances the visibility of artisans while simplifying access for service seekers. The system not only reduces the time and effort required to find skilled labor but also contributes to local economic empowerment and job creation. This development has the potential to transform how skilled labor services are accessed and utilized in Enugu State.
