Abstract

ABSTRACT This research focuses on the design and implementation of an online airline reservation system, using Ilorin International Airport as a case study. The primary aim of this project is to automate the process of airline ticket reservations and management to reduce errors and improve efficiency, which is often compromised in manual systems. The study employs a web-based system developed using PHP and MySQL to handle flight bookings, user management, and payment processing. The system provides a user-friendly interface for customers and an administrative backend for managing flight schedules and reservations. Findings from the implementation indicate a significant improvement in booking accuracy and customer satisfaction. The study concludes by highlighting the importance of integrating such systems in airports to streamline operations and enhance user experience, and it recommends further enhancements, including AI integration for dynamic pricing and the development of a mobile application to increase accessibility.
