Abstract

The advancement of technology has transformed the education sector, streamlining various administrative processes and improving efficiency. This project focuses on the development of a Hostel Management System, a web-based platform designed to facilitate the automated management of student accommodations. The system provides a user-friendly interface for students to apply for hostel space, view allocation status, and manage their profiles. For administrators and hostel staff, the platform enables the efficient handling of room allocation, resident records, payment tracking, and complaint management with minimal manual effort. The system is built using modern web technologies, ensuring scalability, security, and operational efficiency. It incorporates features such as real-time room availability updates, automated allocation algorithms, secure user authentication, and digital record keeping to reduce errors and prevent fraud. By automating key administrative tasks, the system significantly reduces the workload on hostel managers and improves the overall experience for students. The implementation of this project addresses common challenges associated with traditional paper-based hostel management, such as misallocation, record mismanagement, and communication delays. The Hostel Management System is a step towards a more digitalized and efficient campus administration, aligning with the global shift towards smart education infrastructure.
