Abstract

This study looks at how stage lighting helps bring out shapes (forms) and make the performance space more visible and meaningful during the UNIDEL Theatre 4th induction ceremony tagged “The Beatitude”. It focuses on how lighting can affect what the audience sees, how they feel, and how they understand what is happening on stage. Using the UNIDEL Arts Theatre as a case study, the research explains how lighting helps to show the actors, the setting, and the movement in a way that supports the story. This study adopt observation, interviews, and real performances to show that stage lighting is not just about making things bright, but about creating mood, focus, and helping the audience connect with the performance. Conclusively, it shows that lighting is a very important part of stage production that helps to turn an empty stage into a powerful and engaging space.
