ADMINISTRATIVE SKILLS AND DEVELOPMENT NIGERIA NATIONAL PETROLEUM CORPORATION PORT-HARCOURT, RIVERS STATE

ABSTRACT The purpose of this research is to investigate administrative and development of public enterprise. The problem of the study is lack of administrative skills amongst business managers, entrepreneurs, supervisors, etc. there are limited studies on how administrative skills and development of public enterprise. Most of the studies have concentrated in large organization and therefore, it is study was therefore an endeavour to fill the gap particularly for that business operating in the organization. The population size was 100 and the sample size was 80, the questionnaire was used to collect the primary data needed for the research study. It was analyzed by the means of frequency table and tested using chi-square (X2) From the result above, 70% of the respondents agree that administrative skills stimulate growth. This administrative skill has a strong positive and significant influence on the growth of business organizations. Base on the findings, it was recommended that there is no need to organize for business organization not only in Nigeria but country wide to impact the required administrative skills so as to achieve growth and development in the organization.
