PROPOSED RECREATIONAL CENTER FOR RUFUS & BEE NIGERIA LIMITED
Abstract
The proposed recreational center for Rufus and Bee Nigeria Limited to be in Ado Ekiti addresses
the pressing need for a state-of-the-art recreational facility in the region. The research problem
centers around the lack of adequate leisure spaces that cater to the diverse needs of the community,
which has been exacerbated by rapid urbanization and changing lifestyles. This deficiency limits
the opportunities for physical activity and social interaction. The primary aim of this project is to
design a modern recreational center that enhances community engagement and provides a variety
of recreational activities. The specific objectives include creating a multifunctional space that
accommodates sports, events, and leisure activities; integrating sustainable design principles to
minimize environmental impact; and fostering community interaction through inclusive design. To
achieve these aims, a mixed-methods research approach was employed. This involved qualitative
methods such as surveys and interviews with potential users to gather insights on their needs and
preferences. Additionally, quantitative analysis was conducted through the review of existing
recreational facilities in Ado Ekiti and outside the state to identify gaps and opportunities for
improvement. Literature on successful recreational center designs was also reviewed to inform
best practices. The findings indicate a strong demand for diverse recreational amenities, including
sports facilities, event spaces, and areas for relaxation. The discussion emphasizes that a welldesigned recreational center can significantly enhance community well-being by promoting active
lifestyles, social cohesion, and cultural engagement. In conclusion, the proposed recreational
center for Rufus and Bee Nigeria Limited is envisioned as a vital resource for Ado Ekiti that not
only meets the recreational needs of residents but also contributes positively to the local
environment and community dynamics. The integration of user-centered design principles with
sustainable practices will ensure that the facility remains relevant and beneficial for years to come.
