Abstract
Abstract
The rapid growth of digital technology and mobile commerce has significantly transformed consumer purchasing behavior, particularly among university students. This study evaluates the impact of online buying applications on the purchase of MTN data bundles among undergraduates of Joseph Ayo Babalola University, Ikeji-Arakeji. The research aims to assess how factors such as convenience, pricing, accessibility, promotional offers, and user experience influence students’ preference for purchasing MTN bundles through online platforms.
A descriptive survey research design was adopted for the study, with data collected through structured questionnaires administered to a sample of undergraduate students across various faculties. The data obtained were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistical methods to determine the relationship between the use of online buying apps and the frequency of MTN bundle purchases.
Findings from the study reveal that online buying applications significantly influence the purchase behavior of students, with convenience, ease of transaction, and availability of bonus offers identified as major motivating factors. Additionally, the study found that the adoption of these platforms has reduced reliance on traditional recharge methods, while also enhancing the speed and efficiency of transactions. However, challenges such as network issues, transaction failures, and security concerns were also highlighted as limiting factors.
The study concludes that online buying apps play a crucial role in shaping the purchasing patterns of MTN data bundles among undergraduates. It recommends that service providers improve platform reliability, enhance security measures, and introduce more user-friendly features to further encourage adoption and customer satisfaction.
