DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF AN ONLINE KITCHEN ORDER SYSTEM (FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC OFFA, KWARA STATE)
Abstract
ABSTRACT
This research explores the development and implementation of an online food ordering system designed to streamline the ordering and delivery process for fast-food restaurants. The system leverages web-based technologies to enable customers to browse menus, select dishes, and place orders efficiently. By automating the order-taking process, the system reduces manual errors, enhances order management, and provides real-time updates to both customers and restaurant staff. The system is developed using a combination of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP for the front-end and back-end, ensuring a user-friendly interface and secure transaction handling. Key features include a dynamic menu display, secure user authentication, order tracking, and database management for maintaining accurate records. The implementation of this system aims at improving customer experience, reduce operational costs, and increase efficiency in the fast-food industry. Future enhancements may include mobile application development, integration of advanced payment gateways, and features to increase user engagement such as loyalty programs and customer feedback systems.
