Abstract

AL-SI cast was carried out using sand mould and gravitational casting techniques using varied pouring temperature. Specimen were produced from the cast product for Tensile, Hardness and Microstructural analysis. Results from the Hardness test shows a hardness value of 15.82BHN at the pouring temperature of 700 0c. The result for tensile test showed a maximum tensile stress of 113.47Mpa at 700 0c. The microstructural analysis results, the specimen with the least defects is the AL-SI cast from the temperature of 700 0c. The results showed that pouring temperature of AL-SI should maintained at 700 0c.
